Rocker Panels

Inner Rocker Panel

Outer Rocker Panel

The rocker panel is the sheet-metal surface below the door opening, running between front and rear wheel openings. It is made up of two parts, the inner rocker panel and the outer rocker panel. Classic 2 Current Fabrication currently offers two ways to replace your inner rocker panels; a slip-on style and an OE style replacement.

The convenience of purchasing a slip-on style outer rocker panel is it does not include the rocker panel posts thus allowing the installer to either install over the existing outer rocker panel or cutting the original off and completely replacing them. The preferred method with either is to cut of the original and weld in the replacement to prevent water or moisture being trapped in between the two.

The inner rocker panels simply serve as a backing plate to the outer rocker panels and would weld up against the frame of the vehicle, thus making a ‘tube’ like appearance once the two are welded together.
